David Wilson attended IU in Geological Sciences for both his undergraduate and masters degree.
“Initially at IU I was taking a bunch of survey classes in a variety of fields, and took a basic geology class. I always liked the outdoors, and was good at math and science, and after taking that first geology class I was hooked.
One thing I especially liked at IU was that the students would work together on projects as a team. There was a good sense of community. I loved the IU campus and there is a lot of national forest area around Bloomington.
I really liked the field camp work. After taking geology classes, the field camp lets you apply the knowledge from the classes - to see things in the field as a geologist sees them.
The Geological Sciences department has several programs that are highly regarded in the nation. I've recommended IU to many students that I've come across in my work as a seismic network manager in Hawaii.”
